David Mitchell spoke on the shepherds. He said that they were country folk and so he changed the title of the sermon series to "Skeered Not" for this week.

Flyers

If you have a favorite restaurant or hangout, we want to give you a way to promote Reveal where you live, work, and play. We will have 8 1/2 x 11 inch flyers available this Sunday at Reveal so that you can advertise the launch of Reveal.

Blown Away

When I was in college, one night my fraternity brothers and I went to eat at Waffle House. We weren't doing anything special, just our normal routine. Cut up, tell some jokes, talk about sports, when our food came - say the blessing. Well when we went to pay the bill, our waitress said that someone had already paid for it. Turns out that this person saw us praying and was moved to buy our meal.

While in California, Lori and I were traveling from LA to San Diego to visit her sister. On the way, we liked to take a "short-cut" on a toll road that was $4.50. When we got to the booth, the person in front of us had paid our toll.

This past summer, Lori and I went to Anderson to visit my brother and his family for a weekend. We went to eat at a local hot dog place that we like called Skins. When we went to pay the bill, someone had picked it up.

I say all of this because yesterday I was blown away by the generosity of someone. Sunday morning at practice for the 10:30 service, I went to put my capo on my guitar and it broke. (For those of you who don't know, a capo is something that guitar players use to change the key of their guitar.) It wasn't a big deal for the first service because I didn't need one, but I was going to use one for Reveal. Luckily I was able to borrow one. Anyway, I went to Tillman's on Monday morning to get a new one and when I went to pay, it was already purchased. WOW!!! Our God is amazing!!!

I am continually blown away by how God works through his people. To whoever did this: Thank You, what a blessing.

Set List 12.14.08

Here is the music that we used for 12.14.08 - Week 2 of "Fear Not".

O Come All Ye Faithful (by Third Day)
Everlasting God (by Brenton Brown)
Agnus Dei (by Michael W. Smith as performed by Third Day)
Mary Did You Know (by Mark Lowry as performed by Kutless)

I really felt like God was present this week in worship. Here's why: Our band practice did not go very well Tuesday night. With "It's Christmas" going on, all of the wireless microphones that we normally use were upstairs. So when we got to practice, all of the monitor mixes were off. We spent a large amount of time just trying to get the sound usable again. On top of that, not everyone was able to be at practice so we didn't have a full representation of what we were going to get on Sunday. I woke up Sunday morning at 3:20am having nightmares that I wasn't prepared and that the service was not going to go well. I spent much of the remainder of the morning in prayer for the service, the band, and the sound. But WOW!! God showed up and really spoke into my heart and gave me a peace that things were going to be ok. Just another way that He showed me that I need to "Fear Not" because he is Emmanuel (God-With-Us)!!!

Busy Week

As the date gets closer to launching, things are considerably busier as we get things prepared. Here's a look at some of the things we did this week.

1. New website - Yep, www.revealworship.com is now up and running. Of course, it will get more developed over the course of the coming weeks but we have a website that is dedicated to Reveal. Hunter, Will and Priscilla have put a lot of time and effort into getting it going.

2. Banners for the Apex - To give the Apex some identity, we have ordered banners to hang behind the stage and possibly over the welcome desk.

3. iPray - Every time we do a new series and new promo cards, I think that it's the coolest yet. Well, for the series in January (iPray), we hit a home run of Ruthian proportions. Wait til you see the handout cards. They look like an ipod classic.

4. Promo items - We are developing and ordering items like flyers, yard signs, pens, and more to promote the launch of Reveal. It runs from some pretty basic stuff to some pretty cool stuff.

5. Advertising - We are working on TV ads for Comporium, internet ads for Facebook and direct mail cards for Rock Hill, Fort Mill, and Tega Cay.

There is still a lot to get done and not a huge amount of time to do. The most important part is using Reveal as a way to introduce Jesus to those who need him most!

Hope to see you at Fear Not tomorrow.

Peace - Jamie
